I have traveled to 43 countries and in every noteworthy attraction, I found sad faces and negative comments. In Calgary Zoo a man was complaining that the lion is boring. He is just sitting and doing nothing. Such a waste of money. At Eiffel Tower, a woman was complaining that the tower is ugly. Someone complaining about the cold at Lake Louise. Someone complaining about the snow in Zermatt. I guess it is possible to find negativity in everything. Everyone is entitled to their opinion but what were these people gaining from their negativity. You spend a lot of money and time to travel to these wonderful places and then decide to not enjoy it. Why would you do that to yourself?
What we see is a reflection of ourselves. Negative people find negativity in everything. Positive people find the silver lining in everything. One person is scared by the pandemic, another is ruined financially by the pandemic, while another has prospered during the opportunity. The first person saw death. The second person saw change but could not an opportunity. The third person saw an opportunity to solve a problem. No one can reverse the pandemic but what we all could decide how we react to it. The world changed and those who are willing to adapt will prosper.
We see the world through our eyes but we interpret it through our mind. An instructor was teaching North Korean high school kids about capitalism. The students could not accept the fact that market dictates prices. They kept coming back with questions about who in the government actually controlled prices and that if no one is controlling prices then there will be chaos.
Before you criticize anyone ask yourself if the problem really exists. Is there a problem with what you are criticizing or is the problem you interpretation of what you see. To a boring person, the world is boring. To an adventurous person, life is an adventure. To a kind person, everyone is fundamentally good but some people behave badly sometimes. The person who scams others will never trust anyone.
The world you see is a reflection of you.
